Jennifer moved to the United States in 1986 from China and is excited to be embrace residential real estate as a second career.

“I am delighted to turn some of my attention to Long Island’s real estate market,” says Mao. “In serving the real estate sector and joining Homes By Mara Realty, I’ve gained a close-knit and friendly environment that allows for working with new and interesting people every day and the turn-key support for accessing help and resources essential for addressing today’s home buyers’ and sellers’ needs.”

Jennifer is capitalizing on her Chinese heritage and Chinese language skills to build upon Long Island’s growing Chinese community, which includes not only working with Chinese home buyers and sellers currently on Long Island but also those living in China with interest in relocating to our region. “It is rewarding to be using my Chinese heritage and bilingualism for overcoming language or cultural barriers that could otherwise shortchange Chinese homebuyers and sellers from taking advantage of the wonderful neighborhoods that Long Island has to offer. As a native of China and native Long Islander, I have the distinct advantage of understanding both the Long Island market and the special needs of Chinese home buyers and sellers. Having this unique dual perspective allows for me to advocate for Chinese home buyers and sellers while representing the wonderful communities that make Long Island such a desirable place to live.”

Homes By Mara Realty Owner and President Mara Navaretta is delighted to have Mao on her team. “Jennifer has a tremendous appreciation for quality service and professionalism,” says Navaretta. “Her professionalism, coupled with her Chinese-English bilingualism makes her a terrific asset for both our operation and the clients we serve.”

Holding a Bachelor’s of Science in Material Engineering from Shanghai University in China and a Masters in Chemistry from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, Mao began her career as researcher specializing in high temperature ceramics with Ceramics Research Institute in Shanghai, China. Her career in the United States began as an Accounting Manager with Allied Manufacturing Group Inc. in Lodi, NJ. Her diverse professional background includes owning Chinese catering restaurant Chef Express in Hackensack, NJ and serving as a Senior Programmer with North Shore Long Island Jewish Healthcare System in New Hyde Park.
